No way that should have happened. His stats were 67 receptions, 950 yards and 7 TD. Perry of Miami 35 receptions, 865 yards and 6 TD. McMillan of Buffalo 62 receptions, 981 yards and 3 TD. Perry and McMillan got named first team. Not that those games don't count, but he had some of biggest games before MAC play started.
